Located right on the boundary of the Shire of Boulia and the Shire of Diamantina, the Vaughan Johnson Lookout, named for Vaughan Johnson (politician), affords stunning views of the Eyre Creek and Georgina River floodplains and the escarpments on the western boundaries of the floodplains. The site is reasonably accessible for people who have a disability.

Bush logic determined that if the lookout afforded views then so should the toilet block. It is possibly the best view available from a toilet block anywhere on earth.
