English: Victory Green is a small strip of green space in Stanley, Falkland Islands, often used in official parades and ceremonies. Aligned E-W and with buildings at either end, it occupies the space between the shoreline of the harbour bay to the north, and Ross Road running along its south side (with the junction with Villiers Street marking its middle). At the west end is a gift shop, the Bank, the Town Hall and the Post Office. On the south side are Stanley House, the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) office, the Marmont Row, the Police Station and prison. At the east end are shops, including the West Store. On the green is the mizzen mast of SS Great Britain (opposite Marmont Row), as well as some ceremonial cannon and benches. Opposite the BAS building are two concrete platforms used for ceremonies - one had flagpoles, while the other has two saluting guns [1]. These are used in events such as the gun salute marking the Queen's birthday.
