Built in 1858, this Italianate-style house at 511 North Carroll Street in Madison, Wisconsin, was constructed as the primary residence of Willett S. Main. The house features a front gable roof, painted brick exterior, stone lintels and sills, a front porch with Doric columns and a wooden railing, a double wooden front door with a transom, one-over-one windows, a side ell with a one-story bay window, and a stone base.
The house is a contributing structure in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
