English: Woodburytype is the first successful photomechanical printing process, developed and patented 1864 from Walter Bentley Woodbury 1834-1885, used for fine book illustration and Photo-Print in true middle values, from about 1870-1900.

The World Patent was bought by Adolphe Goupil in 1867.
