"In 1971, Wurlitzer introduced the Orbit III, a basic monophonic synthesizer, included as the third manual ... It had a basic envelope that included attack and sustain, a filter of sorts (called “wah-wah”), and a “modulator” with settings for rate and “deviation” (depth). The Orbit III had presets. (Reed, Brass, String, Banjo, Harpsichord, Electro Piano, Vibes, Xylophone and Piano). Each synthesis function could be completely toggled on and off via push button, and the sound of the synthesizer was modified by a row of organ-style buttons affecting the timbre and the range. ... "
