The okegawa dou (dō) is an Japanese (samurai) chest armour of rivetted lames. Okegawa means “tub-sided” and refers to the tub-like shape of the dou (dō). There are two types of okegawa dou (dō): yokohagi (horizontal lames), and tatehagi (vertical lames) .
