The Zelve Open Air Museum (Zelve Açık Hava Müzesi) is a fenced off part of a larger valley, opened as a museum. It contains three valleys with amongst other sights rock churches. To complicate matters a government site now (2022) calls it the Zelve Archaeological Site Zelve. A notice at the entrance speaks of "Zelve ören yeri" or Zelve ruins. The same site describes the Paşabağları Archaeological Site, which is another site, a kilometer or so further to the west, famous for the large fairy chimneys, which are multi-bodied and multi-headed stones that got this form through erosion, the soft lower stone eroding faster than the harder stone on the top.
