Regarding the file rename from the current to "2024 Noto earthquake"[edit]

Since I am not well versed with the conventions that pertain to this, I would request that people chip in their opinions about the file rename request.
In my opinion, in titles and headings, it's generally preferred to follow standard capitalization rules, which means capitalizing the first letter of each main word. Therefore, "2024 Noto Earthquake" would be the correct capitalization and I would  Oppose the file renaming request.
However, if any fellow file movers or users have an opinion, it would be greatly appreciated. Contributers2020Talk to me here! 16:08, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one has chipped in their opinion themselves, I am pinging @Jeff G., @Andy Dingley and @The Squirrel Conspiracy so there is a consensus. Contributers2020Talk to me here! 19:21, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
To fully capitalise it I think we'd have to show that it's widely treated (per COMMONNAME) to the level of being a proper noun. But that hasn't happened. Andy Dingley (talk) 20:33, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Although 'Great East Japan Earthquake' is one that I think might justify capitalisation. Andy Dingley (talk) 14:48, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done for all of them except the proper nouns (note: some of the above are redirects).  Not done for the file per the renaming policy. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 00:39, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, I just copied the categories which had an "Earthquake" matching the cases. Contributers2020Talk to me here! 04:15, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. If you spot any more, leave them here and ping me and I'll fix them when I can. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 05:28, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
