Hi @Roland zh: , this honestly doesn't seem useful to me:

1) Originally these were 2 independent pages, and the redirected one is not meant to be deleted. Why would you delete the version history of Category:Lepidoptera of Karnataka when you can keep both?

2) I don't think version history should even matter: we are not talking about encyclopedic articles, but about category pages that contain nothing (code-wise) but links to their parent categories. --LamBoet (talk) 01:18, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi @LamBoet: , thx for your feedback:

1. indeed, two different pages for the same content, but in 'early 2000's Wikimedia' days categories were not such accurately established then today ;-)
2. moving categories is the way re-categorizing usually is handled since years, that's why it's 'fair' to do so.

I appreciate your effort, hence, let's it deal in in a tried and tested manner for these 'main categories', thx, Roland zh (talk) 01:26, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Thank you, but you didn't really reply to my points... Yes, I too use "move" when only one of the categories exists, it makes sense. But when both categories already exist, since they are conceptually different anyway (only part of Lepidoptera are butterflies, and redirecting the latter to the former is just a choice to simplify the structure), what you are trying to do seems like an overkill to me. Die Anträge auf Schnelllöschung habe ich entfernt, da mir der Grund dafür nicht plausibel ist. MMn. sind die Butterflies-Kategorien überflüssig (siehe Lepidoptera-Kategorien in der en-WP). Evtl. auch ein Fall für CfD. Hystrix (talk) 14:08, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
