cleanup

[edit]

I've more or less finished a major cleanup of the categories here, as there were some overlapping, confusing, or non-notable categories to deal with (which made it challenging when searching for images for new relevant wikipedia pages, for example). As far as possible, everything relating to locations/structures in any of the historical Islamic cemeteries of Cairo that make up the Qarafa (see the relevant page on wikipedia for more info) has now been subsumed under this category (City of the dead). Each monument with any clear set of pictures should have its own category and in addition to being listed here they can/should be listed under "Southern Cemetery (Cairo)" or "Northern Cemetery (Cairo)", as appropriate, to make it easier to distinguish those two regions and what they contain. There are a lot of general pictures of the cemeteries, with or without major monuments in them, and I've categorized them under Southern or Northern cemeteries as well, in addition to adding them to the categories of any specific buildings that are prominently visible in them. If I couldn't reliably recognize the location, I've left them in the general parent category (City of the dead). There are a lot of old/historical photos that could also be further categorized in a "historical images"-type category, but I'll leave that to other editors.

Also, as a general reminder, some historical paintings/drawings were by orientalists who took liberties and inserted their own imagination into the illustrations, so not every image may necessarily be an accurate representation of the historical locations (although, from what I can see, most of them are).
