(Mostly) Not a windlass[edit]
Most of these images show a crannequin spanning mechanism, which is quite similar to a crossbow spanning windlass. I'll try to adjust the category accordingly, and place it under the new "Crossbow spanning methods" subcategory I made, for unsorted images of the various spanning devices. --ZemplinTemplar (talk) 11:34, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
