Redundancy

[edit]

"Category:Demolished buildings in New York City" and "Category:Former buildings in New York City" seem redundant. I propose eliminating one or the other. Hamblin (talk) 21:41, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you follow their parentage, you'll find that one of the grandparents is the daughter cat of the other. A merger was proposed long ago in Category talk:Former buildings and declined for reasons that seem rather scanty to me. I figure reopening that question is the way to go, rather than seek to make one place different from the rest of the world. Jim.henderson (talk) 18:16, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree it would make more sense to resolve it at a higher category level. Hamblin (talk) 10:47, 8 March 2013 (UTC) I have opened a discussion on the page "Category:Demolished buildings". Hamblin (talk) 20:48, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
