Naming

As shown in Species Fungorum, the correct species name for this fungus is wynneae (not wynnei). This is because Berkeley named the species not for John Lloyd Wynne (the owner of the land at Coed Coch, Denbighshire, where the mushroom was found), but for his wife. So the feminine genitive ending "-ae" is required, not the masculine one "-i". Mrs. Wynne is mentioned in Berkeley's species definition.[1] Strobilomyces (talk) 21:02, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
