Museums or galleries?

[edit]

Some of these seem less museums than galleries: putting it crudely, the idea is that the visitor enjoys (or even buys) what's on display, rather than being educated by it. And I want to start to add photos of places that certainly aren't photo (or other) museums but indubitably are photo galleries. However, I'm reluctant to create a new category, whether it's to put museums under galleries, to put galleries under museums, or to put both under a categories-only "Photography museums and galleries". Instead, my first inclination is to rename this "Photography museums and galleries" (or of course "Photography galleries and museums"), although even this isn't something I propose to rush into. PS this is a clear example of a place that clearly is a photo gallery and clearly is not a photo museum. -- Hoary (talk) 01:10, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done. There's now also Category:Photography galleries. -- Hoary (talk) 01:07, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
