According to :en a en:Vestry ist not the same as a en:Sacristy. --Túrelio 21:13, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

@Túrelio:
en:Vestry: "A vestry was a committee for the local secular and ecclesiastical government for a parish in England and Wales, which originally met in the vestry or sacristy of the parish church, and consequently became known colloquially as the "vestry".
en:Sacristy: A sacristy is a room for keeping vestments (such as the alb and chasuble) and other church furnishings, sacred vessels, and parish records. In some countries, it is known as the vestry.
I.e. the committees were named acording th the room named vestry (= sacristy). No distinction between "vestry" and "sacristy" (as rooms) is mentioned in the linked articles.
Almost all of the included photos are related to the room, almost none to the committees. If you really find some files related to any vestry in the linked sense of en:Vestry article, we can create any category for it. However, the real Commons category of Category:Vestries is categorized only under Category:Architectural elements of churches. i.e. related to the rooms only, not to the committees. --ŠJů (talk) 23:47, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
