The Latin Taxon name, usually so exhaustively percise and written in full, strikes me as perhaps not unheard of but awkward. I am left wondering what the "C" in "C-nigrum" means. The discoverer namesake Carl (first name? Then why not changed to Latin form with a K)? Though not Latin; Cutworm? Character?. Something in simple Latin like "cis".
