Reflief map of Wales
English: Since 1 April 1996, Wales has been divided into 22 single-tier principal areas for local government purposes. The elected councils of these areas are responsible for the provision of all local government services, including education, social work, environmental protection, planning and most highways. Listed buildings and monuments are grouped under County names and are used in the statutory register, which in the case of Wales means they are broadly based on the ceremonial counties and do not always match the current administrative areas. These lists are maintained by on behalf of the Welsh Government.
Cymraeg: Ers 1 Ebrill 1996, rhennir Cymru yn 22 prif raniad (un-haen) ar gyfer awdurdodau llywodraeth leol. Mae cynghorau etholedig yr ardaloedd hyn yn gyfrifol am ddarparu gwasanaethau llywodraeth leol gan gynnwys addysg, gwaith cymdeithasol, amgylcheddol, cynllunio a phriffyrdd. Dosberthir adeiladau a henebion cofrestredig dan y siroedd hyn, a'r rhain a ddefnyddir ar y gofrestr statudol. Maent yn fras, wedi'u grwpio dan y siroedd cadwedig, ac nid ydynt wastad yn parchu ffiniau'r awdurdodau presennol. Cedwir y cofrestrau hyn gan Cadw ar ran Llywodraeth Cymru.
