The Commons:Modern Chinese characters project aims to upload well named media files for Chinese characters written with modern East Asian calligraphic styles such as Kaishu, Mingti, Xingshu and Caoshu. It could be later expanded to other computer-era styles provided that free open fonts are available for these styles. The project is expected to become active in 2021 via the use of Font2svg NodeJS script and ShufaBot in order to generate and upload thousands relevant files programmatically. As of 2020, the MCC project is under discussion and incubation within the Commons:Ancient Chinese characters project.
