Quality imports are media files that meet certain quality standards (which are mostly technical in nature).

There are currently 4 media files marked as Quality imports, which is roughly 0% of the available files (104,940,215).

This page highlights recently promoted files that meet the quality import guidelines. If you think that a particular file meets the criteria, you may nominate it at Commons:Quality imports candidates. All Quality imports can be found in a category called Quality imports. You can browse Quality imports by country, subject, century, format (for example photographs, books, movies, paintings, music, Etc.), file type (JPEG, PNG, SVG, MP3, MP4, Etc.), or user/author.

Quality imports are divided into [TO BE DETERMINED] subgroups. Any individual file may be placed in one or more of these groups:

  • Media files with special technical merit. These files can be used as reference tools for teaching and explaining concepts.
  • Media files with a particular subject. This group has subgroups such as "birds" and "man-made structures".
  • Media files created in a particular manner. For example, animations and pictures created with the use of a microscope.

(Before adding new media files to these pages please see Commons talk:Quality imports.)
