  •  Question Useful, but is there anything recognizably different in appearance about this egg than any other egg? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:08, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment The oology is a bit off-putting. The shape is a determining criterion we have algorithms which analyze the images taken (often we cannot touch the eggs in the nest) and which often give the name of the family or the genus. The texture of the shell is also a criterion. And especially the coloring which seems uninteresting here but which tells us about the determination and the state of health of the subject. A confirmed oologist (I am not one) can tell the life of the bird when he sees the egg. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 06:17, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment Yes, it is interesting to note that for many species, the color and texture of the hulls is variable within the same laying while in this group the colors are more homogeneous, often uniform, in contrast to the plumage! Their shapes differ as well as their sizes.--Ercé (talk) 07:07, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support as useful to oologists, then. Thanks, gentlemen. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:02, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
