Definitely one of the most impressive and dramatic photos I've ever seen on Commons: an eagle facing off with a gazelle mother over its dead calf. The photo is a valued illustration of imperial eagles' predation. This behaviour seems to be common among this species of eagles, as there is a popular video on YouTube of a similar encounter. Nevertheless, making such a photo is not an easy feat, and the dynamics in this particular image is incredibly artistic, as if it's a scene from some 19th century painting. -- Amakuha (talk) |
