Reason | "Constantinus", "Constans", "Constantius"... This one is Emperor Constantius II, son of Constantine the Great, grand-son of Constantius I, brother of co-emperor Constantine II and of co-emperor Constans I. Clear ? Well, anyway, at the end and after some wars, he remained alone as emperor of the whole Roman Empire. He nominated as successor Julian, his brother-in-law (husband of his sister... Constantia) and best enemy. A nice bust of the time, and the best in scope in my opinion. The geolocation is where the piece was when photographied, during a temporary exhibition (aug.2013) in the Colosseum. -- Jebulon (talk) |
