Wiki Loves Earth (WLE) is an international photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites around the World through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons). This page is about the Moroccan photo contest but you can read more about how you can participate in other countries on the website of the contest.
Everybody can participate in WLE 2021 in Morocco! There are a lot of natural heritage sites in Morocco, and the goal of Wiki Loves Earth is to encourage people to take pictures of those natural sites, and to put them under a free license so that others may access them through the Internet. The contest will take place from 1 June 2021 to 30 June 2021.
In June 2021, you may upload as many pictures as you want of natural sites that you have visited. Pictures do not have to be taken in June 2021, but must be uploaded that month to be considered for the competition. Provide your photo with {{Wiki Loves Earth 2021|ma}} template and a short description. At the end of the month, the contest jury will begin evaluating the photographs and will choose the best pictures.

The Jury will choose the top 15 photos qualify for the international final. The Jury also awards 3 national prizes:
1. place: gift card of 100 USD (or 900 MAD)
2. place: gift card of 60 USD (or 540 MAD)
Why participate?
Morocco is a country with a rich and diverse nature, with many natural sites wherever you go. In every corner, there are natural heritage sites worth a visit. This competition is a great opportunity to bring your camera, go to the sites listed, take some photos and show Morocco's nature from your point of view to the rest of the world!
Participating in the competition is a great way to experiment and learn which photos that gain recognition. You certainly don't need to be a professional photographer to take photos useful for Wikipedia. Here's a great chance to try it out! Entries to the local competition are eligible for selection to the international finale with many prices to win.

Competition rules
We try to keep the competition clean and simple to participate. There are only a few rules for photos to participate in the contest in Morocco. Let's quickly go through them.
All entries must be your own work; do not manipulate original images and make sure that there is no visible watermarks.
All photos must be uploaded within June 2021, to be eligible
All photos must be under a free license
Participants must have an active email account.

Captions and description are required
Make sure that you are not uploading duplicate images
All photos must have at least 2Mpx.

The Jury
In June, you may upload as many pictures (old or new) as you want from the natural sites that you have visited. At the end of the month, the national jury will evaluate the photographs and select the best pictures in Morocco to submit to represent in the international finale. If there are any doubts about the implementation of the rules, the jury decides.
Eligible objects
The competition name refers to earth, but in the Moroccan context this is to be interpreted as anything relating to nature and natural sites. Some reference lists of eligible sites is given below.

When possible, please submit the identification number in the competition upload tool for automatic labeling.
Judging criteria
The jury will determine the winners of the international contest taking into the consideration the following criteria (in no particular order):
- Technical quality (sharpness, use of light, perspective etc.);
- Originality;
- Usefulness of the image for Wikipedia.
