Ridiculous deletion. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:32, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

why was it delited ? Pine was a jewish labor leader, and a zionist active... there is an article abute him in the hebrow wiki : [1] and the file was in use there... please restore the file...Nizzan Cohen (talk) 10:42, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Although the original nomination was a question of whether Pine was notable, that was not the reason the image was deleted. We all understand that he was an important figure. The issue is that no one has shown that this image is in the public domain.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 13:33, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But of course there is no reason to suspect that it is copyrighted. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 14:40, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Everything has a copyright, until it eventually (almost always) becomes PD. This may be PD, even likely is PD, but someone has to prove it. As you well know, our precautionary principle requires that.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 16:50, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Clearly, you do not have a clue. In the US, only stuff that was published with proper notice was copyrighted. Even if it had a notice before 1923, that copyright has expired now. You guys are always invoking your paranoia principle to delete perfectly innocuous stuff. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:42, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
