i'm anticipating the comment that unveiling is not publishing, and that a photo was first printed in a copyrighted book. given the deletion bias, i can have no confidence that this image will stay. belts and suspenders. 198.24.31.118 17:40, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think you are overly cautious -- we have many images of pre-1976-law American sculptures with no notice on Commons. Several editors have made the no-publication argument, but it has failed, as its only possible outcome is to conclude that if a sculpture is never published, it has a perpetual copyright and that is ridiculous and violates Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.     Jim . . . .
