About this question and answer:

  • Can I upload images that I have taken and shared in other media like Flickr?
Yes, of course, but in that case, you have to change your license from 'all rights reserved' to 'creative commons share-alike' where the photo was originally published.

could someone please double check the validity of this answer? Why would one ever have to do such a thing as change the license under which previous publications of the same work, elsewhere, were made? Hamilton Abreu (talk) 09:30, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is recommended, not only for the competition but also true for other Flickr to Commons file. Otherwise, we have to go through Commons:OTRS and in there, the user will eventually be asked to change the license to verify the copyright claim. ~ Nahid Talk 16:13, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
