Pictures outside protected areas[edit]

As far as I understand it's allowed to upload pictures outside protected areas when they concern the special topic human rights and environment. We tell the uploaders in Germany if they upload these pictures to add additional the following cat [[:Category:Images from Wiki Loves Earth 2023 in Germany outside of the competition], so these pictures wouldn't be mixed with the regular WLE upload. So, just for your information, these pictures take part at the special topic. Or is it better, to use in these cases https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Campaign:wle-special even when the country takes part at WLE Z thomas 08:09, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Romaine, AntonProtsiuk (WMUA), and OlesiaLukaniuk (WMUA): in case you missed this question Z thomas 08:40, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Z thomas: I would say:
  • Use the upload campaign for a specific country if it participates this year in WLE, and then uploaders can select yes to nominate it for the special nomination.
  • For images from countries that do not participate in WLE this year, they can use Campaign:wle-special.
Until I saw your message I assumed that all images would be eligible in the regular WLE contest. If that is not the case, also then I guess the Campaign:wle-special can be used. Hopefully Anton/Olesia can share their thoughts on this. Romaine (talk) 10:24, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Romaine thanks for your answer.
I prefer the option to use the special campaign for pictures that aren't taken in a protected area Z thomas 13:33, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it would be good to use the special campaign, especially for the special nomination. Thanks for your question! OlesiaLukaniuk (WMUA) (talk) 12:46, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
