Territory claimed and partially controlled by the Democratic Republic of Georgia. Transferred to Turkey at 1921 Kars treaty after the sovietization of Georgia. In other words part of Georgia that Turkey received after its bipartite division among Russia (USSR) and Turkey. The region is commonly referred to as Tao-Klarjeti despite also covering historical provinces different from these two.
