These fortifications, which still exist in Barangay Carmen, Toledo City, were built by the United States of America Forces in the Far East (USAFFE) in preparation for the Japanese invasion.

English: In Barangay Carmen, Toledo City, concrete barricades known as the "Depensa" still exist today. These obstacles were built by USAFFE soldiers in Toledo in preparation for the Japanese invasion. These are known as "Dragon's Teeth," according to Professor Jobers Bersales, as reported in their book "The War in Cebu."
The exact date of construction of the tank barriers is unknown, however it is most likely a few months before World War 2. |
