Title
?Roman ?furntiure fitting - view one of two
Description
English: Copper alloy incomplete finial, probably from furniture, missing part of its tang. Probably Roman in date.

It is 25.5mm long and weighs 3.17g with a maximum diameter of 9mm.

The point is 7mm high and 5.5mm in diameter at the end opposite the point. 5mm from the tip an incised line runs around it. It is here that it splays to 9mm in diameter. Below this is a groove and a section 10mm in length and hour-glass in shape. This ends in an area splayed to 6.5mm diameter, beyond which the broken tang extends, rectangular in section (3x2.5mm) and 5mm in length.
