Notes | The coat of arms has been 'made up' ie not a single block. Blue sprinkled endleaves. According to Alvise Figa' Talamanca, Foscarini's de luxe red goatskin (morocco) bindings were made in Rome, where he was ambassador from 1736 to 1740. This, however is calf, 'vitello' is probably not Roman and is likely to be number 1397 in the Catalogo della biblioteca Foscarini ai Carmini vendibile a Venezia nell'anno 1800. | |||
