Description

Črešnjevec pri Semiču.

Vrtača, ki se nahaja na sredi vasi Črešnjevec, je v daljni preteklosti predstavljala glavni vir vode in preživetja vaščanov. Ustni viri pravijo, da so ženske že v času Ilirskih provinc nosile vodo iz vrtače na glavah za Napoleonove vojake, ki so hodili po teh krajih. Vodo iz treh studencev so uporabljali približno do leta 1900, ko so se začeli pojavljati prvi vodnjaki. Vodni viri so bili leta 2012 obnovljeni.

V vasi je od septembra 1944 do aprila 1945 delovala partizanska evakuacijska bolnišnica Topolovec, v katero je bila vključena cela vas. Sprejemala je težke ranjence, ki so bili ranjeni v bojih z okupatorjem v raznih krajih Slovenije, in jih preko partizanskih letališč na Otok in Krasinec evakuirala v zavezniške bolnišnice v Italijo.
