Summary[edit]

Description

Ikarus 280.04 bus (#51718, reg. Р 0350 ПБ), built 1983, Еггед Русе from Ruse (Русе) operator. The pantheon is a memorial to many 19th century Bulgarian freedom fights who died for the cause 39 are buried inside it. In 1993 it was not open and there was no eternal flame burning. I guess history was being re-assessed at the time.... Vehicle Registration P (r) = cyrillic registration for Ruse. ALso called Roustchuk from the latinised Turkish. Some of these articulated Ikarus buses were bought from East Berlin (Ost) BVB in the early 1990s but 51718 was delivered new to Bulgaria in the special Bulgarian Ikarus livery. (see comments below by @balkananton. The numbering system defeats me.

51060 was the last (ex-East Berlin) articulated bus in Ruse.
