Description
Русский: Малощетинкови черви (лат. Oligochaeta) населяют различные типы континентальных водоемов, в большинстве рек и озер эта группа животных составляет значительную часть донной фауны: биомасса бентоса на 50-60%, а иногда и на 100% может состоять из олигохет. Они играют большую роль в круговороте веществ водоема, определяя темпы илообразования и минерализации донных осадков. Массовое развитие полисапробних видов является мощным фактором процесса самоочищения загрязненных водоемов. Также значительная роль олигохет в питании некоторых промысловых рыб.
