ไทย: เวียงท่ากานตั้งในเขตบ้านท่ากาน ตำบลบ้านกลาง อำเภอสันป่าตอง จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ จากหลักฐานทางด้านตำนานปรากฏชื่อว่า เมืองตระการ สันนิษฐานว่า น่าจะได้สร้างขึ้นราวพุทธศตวรรษที่ ๑๓ สมัยพระเจ้าอาทิตยราชครองเมืองหริภุญไชย จากพงศาวดารโยนกได้กล่าวว่าเมืองนี้ในสมัยพญามังรายมีฐานะเป็นเมืองขึ้นของเชียงใหม่ มีชื่อว่า พันนาทะการ สมัยพระเจ้าติโลกราชได้ยกทัพไปตีเมืองเงี้ยวก็ยังได้นำเชลยเงี้ยวไปไว้ที่พันนาทะการในปี พ.ศ. ๒๐๖๐ สมัยพระเมืองแก้วมีไทถิ่นต่าง ๆ เข้ามาสวามิภักดิ์ก็ให้ไปตั้งบ้านเรือนที่เวียงพันนาทะการอีก จนในปี พ.ศ. ๒๑๐๑ พระเจ้าหงสาวดีบุเรงนองของพม่าตีได้เชียงใหม่และล้านนาไว้ในอำนาจให้พระเจ้าเมกุฏิครองเมืองเชียงใหม่ เวียงนี้ก็คงอยู่ในอำนาจของพม่าด้วย และภายหลังเจ้าองค์นกแข็งเมือง ปกครองตนเองและมีการต่อสู้กันจนเชียงใหม่ร้างไปในระยะปี
๒๓๑๘-๒๓๓๙ ประมาณ ๒๐ ปีเศษ พันนาทะการก็อาจจะร้างไปด้วย จนสมัยพระเจ้ากาวิละตีเชียงใหม่คืนมาได้ และได้ปราบปรามเมืองอื่น ๆ ก็ให้เมืองนี้เป็นที่อยู่ของชาวไทลื้อเมืองยอง ซึ่งให้อยู่ทั้งที่พันนาทะการและเมืองลำพูน
