Description
Deutsch: Kaiser-Wilhelm-Denkmal auf dem Deutschen Eck in Koblenz. Das Reiterstandbild wurde 1897 eingeweiht. Das Standbild wurde beim Einmarsch der Alliierten 1945 durch Beschuss zerstört und der Sockel wurde zum Mahnmal der Deutschen Einheit erklärt. 1993 wurde die politisch umstrittene Rekonstruktion des Reiterstandbildes auf den Sockel gesetzt.
English: Kaiser Wilhelm Monument on the Deutsches Eck in Koblenz. The equestrian statue was inaugurated in 1897. The statue was destroyed by shelling during the Allied invasion in 1945 and the base was declared a memorial to German unity. In 1993 the politically controversial reconstruction of the equestrian statue was placed on the base.
