Description
English: A cast copper-alloy horse harness pendant of Roman date,circa late 2nd to 3rd century. The pendant has a heart shaped upper section with a down facing chevron where the suspension loop joins. The terminal end is trefoil shaped with a chevron facing upwards. The suspension loop is oval with little wear, but the loop has cracked in antiquity. The pendant has a black patina with patches of copper-alloy showing through. Dimensions are; Length 39.5 mm. Width 16 mm. Thickness 3 mm. Weight 5.942 grams.
