14; Medieval buckle
Description
English: A cast, copper alloy, rectangular buckle with expanded outer edge, dating from c. 1350-1400. The outer edge carries five transverse grooves, one at each end and three grouped together in the centre. It has an offset and recessed bar and slightly convex sides, but has been slightly distorted. The buckle has a very dark green patina. It is 15.9mm long, 16.4mm wide and 2.9mm thick. It weighs 2.28gm. It is a Meols rectangular type C.
