16th C. AD button
Description
English: Copper-alloy button of 16th C. AD date. Probably cast in one piece. Comprises a circular domed head with a slightly convex underside, from the centre of which extends the attachment lug. This is flat in section and widens out from 3mm, at the point where it joins to the head, to 4.9mm at the damaged and incomplete rounded terminal. The attachment hole is oval in shape (now damaged) and measures 3.4mm long by 3mm wide. Overall, the button is 14.8mm long, by 11mm wide. Weight = 4.16g.
