Summary

[edit]
Description Reverse of a 1776 Continental currency coin replica. Versions were made from silver, brass, and pewter. The denomination is unknown, and may have varied by the metal used, though (especially for the silver version) it is thought that it was a Spanish dollar coin. The design came from an earlier Continental currency note, which was made by Benjamin Franklin. For more information, see here or here.
