Description
English: St. Boniface's Abbey in Munich photographed on silver chloride paper by Carl August von Steinheil (1801 - 1870) and Franz von Kobell (1803 - 1882) in 1838/39. It is one of the earliest photographs taken in Germany. Steinheil and Kobell claimed that they made their first photographs before anyone had published anything on photography. Throughout April and mid-1839, Steinheil and Kobell presented their photographs on silver chloride paper of Munich.
