English: 1874 map of the newly-completed Lowell and Andover Railroad. The branch line, owned by the Boston and Maine Railroad, allowed the B&M to poach Lowell-Lawrence and Lowell-Boston traffic from the Boston and Lowell Railroad, its rival.
