Title |
18 fragments from late Bronze Age ingots |
||
Description |
English: An assemblage of bronze ingot fragments. The suggested date of this 'hoard' is late Bronze Age. This is based on a fragment of a socketed axe (see BH-0B42E8), which was found close by and is probably associated. The pieces range in size from 22.9mm long and 19.8mm wide, to 104.3mm long by 61.3mm wide and 32.8mm thick. The larger pieces clearly originate from plano-convex ingots, which may have measured up to 300mm across. The surfaces are heavily corroded. The total weight of the assemblage is 3.3844 kg. |
