A field trip out of the Placerville Station. Mr. Davis (left) a representative of the C.A. Smith Lumber Company and Entomological Ranger J.J. Sullivan making a preliminary reconnaissance. At Devil's cabin on the tract of timber owned by the C.A. Smith Lumber Company near Pino Grande, California. This was the field headquarters for the protection work of the Company and was used as the base camp for the 1913 forest insect survey.
