| Description |
The Cadillac Automobile Company was founded in 1903. In 1909 Cadillac was acquired by General Motors, it was GMs premier luxury car, also specialising in commercial chassis, used for limousines, ambulances and hearses. Cadillacs V8 was introduced way back in 1914, the V12 and V16 introduced in 1930. With that, three models were available, bodies were either Fisher or Fleetwood (both now owned by General Motors) The 96hp 353 cu in V8 was called the 353 on 140 or 152 inch wheelbase (2 door Coupe, Convertible, 4 door Sedan, Town Sedan and Imperial Sedan Fleetwood Phaetons and Roadsters available too) This very original car was sold new in Australia The 135hp 368 cu in V12 was called the 370 on 140 or 152 inch wheelbase (2 door Coupe, Convertible, 4 door Sedan, Phaeton, Town Sedan and Limousine) And the 175hp 452 cu in V16, called the 452 on a 148 inch wheelbase, more cylinders than any other car available in the US (2 door Coupe, Convertible, 4 door Sedan, Town Sedan and Limousine) The 1931 update was the 452-A, then the 452-B in 1932, wheelbase increased to 149 inch, 452-C in 1933, and the 452-D in 1934 and 1935, wheelbase increased again to 154 inches. |
