Summary[edit]

Description

The 1932 Ford passenger cars were available as the 201 cu in 4 cylinder Model B or the 221 cu in Flathead V8 Model 18, built on the same platform, they shared body, chassis and trim. Replacing the Model A, the new Ford not only got the new V8 option, but was on a longer wheelbase, had a lower hoodline and a new chassis, it was a much more comfortable car. Ford had been producing factory made pickup trucks since 1925, their trucks of the 1930’s didn't receive the radical styling changes the passenger cars got. The design changes were minor of the next few years. Focus was on functionality rather than style The most significant change in the 1932 truck line occurred under the hood. Facing competition in the pickup truck market from the Chevrolet 6-cylinder engine, Ford decided to take a gamble, and offered their newly designed Ford Flathead V8, The decision would prove to be a popular one with the buying public. The 4-cylinder engine was still offered as an economy option, but would eventually be phased out due to low demand.

Engine; 50hp 201 cu in 4 cyl or 65hp 221 cu in V8
