| Description |
The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac. Styling for 1939 featured a new two-piece 'waterfall' grille with thin vertical bars. Window area increased substantially with the rear window changing to a one-piece design. The 120 inch wheelbase Series 40 Special got a 107hp 248 cu in, available in 2 door Business Coupe, Sport Coupe, Sedan, Convertible and 4 door Sedan or Phaeton The 126 inch wheelbase Series 60 Century got the 141hp 320 cu in, available in 2 door Sedan, Convertible and 4 door Sedan or Phaeton. The 133 inch wheelbase Series 80 Roadmaster with 141hp 320 cu in, in 4 door Phaeton or Sedan. And the premium 140 inch wheelbase Series 90 Limited, got the 141hp 320 cu in, available in 4 door Sedan, Touring Sedan or Limousine The 1939-41 Buick was also built in Australia by GMH, like this car, they varied somewhat from the US built cars, Stayed with the split rear window, different boot shape and door handles incorporated in the body mould. Available in Australia in the 40 Series Sedan or the 60 Series Sedan. |
