| Description |
The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac. The new 1949 Buick was a similar shape to the 1942-48 Buick, but was slightly shorter, had a larger windshield. Also in 1949, the unique to Buick, 'Ventiports' were introduced, four on the top Roadmaster and three on the other models. In 1949 the grille pushed out wider, the parkers on top of the fenders. The vertical bars of the 1949 grille, grew in 1950 continuing down in front of the bumper, the prominent grille mounted parkers introduced. The 1950 121 inch wheelbase Series 40 Special, with 110hp 248 cu in, was available in 2 door Coupe, 2 or 4 door Sedan and 4 door Touring Sedan, a Deluxe model now available The 124 inch wheelbase Series 50 Super, 110hp 248 cu in, available in 2 and 4 door Sedan, Convertible, Wagon and 2 door Riviera Hardtop The 126 inch wheelbase Series 70 Roadmaster, 144hp 320 cu in, available in 2 and 4 door Sedan, Convertible and Wagon, upmarket Riviera also available. |
