Description

Spraying felled ponderosa pine trees to control bark beetle infestation (Dendroctonus brevicomis). Where economically possible, salvage logging is done to remove the insect infested trees. Insecticide used is a 1.5% solution of Lindane in diesel fuel. Lindane is a residual insect killer. McCloud Ranger District, Shasta National Forest, California.
