Description

The Buick Motor Company was formed in 1903, it was General Motors' upmarket car, second only to Cadillac. Buicks were restyled for 1961, the fins were gone, there was less chrome and the bodies were boxier, fender 'Ventiports' were back. Full size Buicks were the short wheelbase B bodies Lesabre and the Invicta and the longer C body Electra and Electra 225. A new compact Y body Buick was introduced, the Special. The 1961 LeSabre had a full width grille, for this year only, the fenders protruded past the grille to a point. In 1962, the pointed fenders were gone, a new grille and tail lights. The 1961 112 inch wheelbase Special, 185hp 215 cu in, available in base or Deluxe, available in 2 door Coupe, 4 door Sedan, Wagon and 2 door Skylark Coupe. The 123 inch wheelbase LeSabre, 250hp 364 cu in, was available in 2 or 4 door Sedan, 2 or 4 door Hardtop, Convertible or Wagon. The 123 inch wheelbase Invicta, 324hp 401 cu in, available in 2 or 4 door Hardtop, Convertible or Wagon. The 126 inch wheelbase Electra, 324hp 401 cu in, available in 2 or 4 door Hardtop or 4 door Sedan

The 126 inch wheelbase top of the line Electra 225, 324hp 401 cu in, available in Convertible, 4 door 4 window Hardtop and 4 door 6 window Riviera Hardtop.
